When Power Is Misused (Discovery Series Booklet)

Men don't have to apologize for their gender or strength. Still, all of us men need to open to see where, how or why we've misused our strength.

This purpose of this booklet is not to engage in male-bashing.  Masculinity has taken enough of a bad rap.  It's a reflection of God Himself (Gen. 1:27) and declared by Him to be "very good" (v.31).  If you are a man who has a pattern of dominating others, lost your job because of your behaviour, or worse, you are now at a place to start taking more seriously the way you treat people.  This booklet is one small effort to help men begin to putting a finger on what's gone wrong in the hearts of males who strength has turned bad.  Further, it's our hope to help men discover and deepend a God-given desire to use their strength to help others.

Jeff Olson is a licensed professional counselor in the State of Michigan and has worked for Our Daily Bread Ministries as a counselor and a writer since 1992. He has authored a number of Discovery Series booklets (discoveryseries.org) on such topics as addictions, grief, depression, and marital abuse. He also maintains a part-time private counseling practice in the West Michigan area. Jeff and his wife, Diane, have been married since 1986 and have raised two lovely daughters. He is an avid outdoorsman.
