What happens when we lose our illusion of safety?

Whether or not we suffered a personal or peripheral loss, we have all lost something very valuable.  We have lost our illusion of safety!  When tragedy strikes, safety evaporates.  Security is undermined.  Uncertainty abounds.  Fear invades.  Human frailty is exposed.  Faced with our own mortality, our vulnerability becomes an impenetrable fog that engulfs the human heart.  But tragedy is not exclusive.  It can strike unannounced from just about any direction.  How do we cope?

Tim Jackson is married to his college sweetheart, Cole. They have 3 adult children. Tim has written Discovery Series booklets on a variety of counseling issues and hosted webinars for Our Daily Bread Ministries. He's also the founder and president of Still Waters Counseling & Equipping Ministries, PC, a local counseling practice serving individuals, couples and families. When not in the office, you will probably find him up a tree with a bow, in a duck blind or fly fishing on one of Michigan's many rivers.
